Genetic Disease Testing
HIV Genotyping: HIV has many faces. The AIDS-triggering virus is able to reproduce itself, making numerous changes to its genetic code. As a result, it renders medicines ineffective. The Tru-Gene HIV-1 Genotyping Test performed at AccuMolecular Diagnostics, decodes the genetic material of the virus and determines any Anti-Viral Drug Resistance; thus providing a basis for individualized HIV therapy. The comprehensive report lists all resistance and viral mutations.

HIV Viral Load: AccuMolecular Diagnostics performs the Amplicor HIV-1 Monitor Test which uses PCR technology to quantify the amount of HIV-1 RNA (viral load) present in an infected person's blood. This test can measure viral loads as low as 50 copies per milliliter of plasma. This is the most sensitive test on the market. Viral loads below 50 copies has been associated with a more complete and durable viral suppression.

Department of Health and Human Services, International AIDS Society and Euroguidelines Group for HIV drug resistance recommend the use of resistance testing to guide optimal therapy in HIV.

HIV-1 Ultra-Sensitive Viral Load Test
  • Measures viral loads as low as 50 copies/ml
HIV-1 TruGene Genotyping Test
  • Detects actual viral genetic mutations associated with drug resistance
  • Anti-Viral Drug Resistance Test (at-a-glance resistance summary by drug)
  • Determination of effect of multiple mutations on resistance to one drug or a combination of drugs
