Cang Chen, M.D., Ph.D. - Medical Director and Senior Vice-President


Dr. Chen is the distinguished Medical Director of AccuMolecular Diagnostics. In his capacity, Dr. Chen oversees all aspects of the clinical testing processes and provides direction to an impressive array of physician scientists. With over 26 years of clinical experience in the area of DNA and Genetic Testing, Dr. Chen is recognized as a National and International expert in the area of DNA analysis.

Dr. Chen has been the recipient of numerous multi-million dollar grants in support of his research efforts for his work in the area of genomic testing. Dr. Chen is a frequently requested lecturer with over 100 credited publications in major medical journals. In addition, Dr. Chen has received certifications to conduct DNA Testing by Roche Diagnostics, Bayer Diagnostics, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, GenProbe, DiGene Corp., and Visible Genetics.

Previously, Dr. Chen served as an Associate Research Professor for the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas, where his research efforts were concentrated on Genetic Disease Testing. Dr. Chen is a graduate of the Distinguished Beijing Medical University in Beijing Peoples Republic of China and his Ph.D. is from the University of Tokushima in Tokushima , Japan, graduating with honors.


Jason Ming Zhao, M.D. - Vice President (Medical Affairs)


Dr. Zhao is the distinguished Vice-President of Medical Affairs, in his capacity, Dr. Zhao is tasked with making specific recommendations to the Board of Directors in the following areas: scientific merit of test, good clinical practices, advertising methods, risk/benefit ratio, consent form appropriateness, and patients' safety and confidentiality. Dr. Zhao brings an impressive record of clinical practice experience with increasing levels of responsibility in both private practice and academic settings.

Dr. Zhao served as the Chief Medical Resident and Instructor for the Department of Ophthalmology, at the distinguished Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical University, Changsha, Hunan, P.R. of China. With additional Surgical Internship and Residency studies at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Zhao is currently on staff at the San Antonio Eye Center. Dr. Zhao's research and publications have been featured in multiple medical journals to include; J Neuroimmunology, Proc. National Academy of Sciences, Arch Ophthalmology, and the prestigious Chinese journal, the Ocular Fundus. Dr. Zhao is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.


Shuo Chen, M.D., Ph.D. - Vice-President (Technical Affairs)


Dr. Chen is the distinguished Associate Medical Director of AccuMolecular Diagnostics. In his capacity, Dr. Chen oversees the department of Molecular Testing for Cancer and Genetic Diseases. In addition, he oversees the technical aspects of clinical tests to include analysis, validation, system performance and quality assurance. With over 25 years of direct laboratory experience focusing on molecular structures, Dr. Chen has authored more than 100 publications in the area of Genetic and Cellular function.

Dr. Chen has been the recipient of multiple research awards from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Chen received his medical education from the prestigious Fujian Medical College, Fujian, P.R. China. His Ph.D. in Molecular Biology is from the University of Texas Health Science Center located in San Antonio, Texas. A recipient of pre and post Doctoral Fellowship Awards from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Chen was also a former visiting Scholar at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and is currently on staff as an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.


Dun-Xian Tan, M.D., Ph.D. - Vice-President (Scientific Affairs)


Dr. Tan is the distinguished Vice-President of Scientific Affairs. In his capacity, Dr. Tan oversees the scientific validity of testing methods performed at AccuMolecular Diagnostics. With over 25 years of laboratory experience in both academia and private sector, Dr. Tan brings a broad spectrum of experience in multiple disciplines to include Medicine, Pharmacology and Molecular Biology.

Dr. Tan is an experienced senior research scientist with over 150 authored publications, one of which has been cited more than 600 times. In addition, Dr. Tan has been awarded National and International patents for his discoveries in the area of cellular structures.

Dr. Tan received his medical degree from the prestigious Hunan Medical University, Hunan, China, and his Ph.D. from Gottingen University, Gottingen, Germany. He was formerly a Senior Lecturer, Postdoctoral Fellow, Research Scientist and Assistant Research Professor with the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Tan holds members hips in the American Federation for Medical Research and the the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
